The timing of EFSA’s (European Food Safety Authority) assessment of the overall safety of dietary sugars has been revised due to the impact of the pandemic. As of now, a public consultation on the draft scientific opinion is scheduled to occur sometime mid-year 2021 with a final adoption exoected by the end of the year.
