The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) announced the publication of an administrative guide for food contact materials to be evaluated by EFSA. It describes how to submit applications for new or an update for existing materials and articles intended for food contact and describes timelines and procedures for applications. EFSA updates its guidance documents on a regular basis and provides an extensive regulatory framework here.
