The US FDA requires domestic and foreign facilities that manufacture, process, pack, or hold food for human and / or animal consumption in the United States to register on a biennial basis with FDA on even numbered years.  The 2020 Biennial Registration Renewal period begins on October 1, 2020 and concludes on December 31, 2020.  Information on the process is available on FDA’s website, and the FDA Industry Systems (FIS) website is used to manage the renewals.  Among other requirements, each facility must have a unique facility identifier (UFI).  FDA offers an FAQ section to assist with the registration information and renewal process.
