The U.S. FDA has withdrawn three compliance policy guides (CPGs) for product labeling requirements saying that they are outdated. One of them is based on data that is at least forty years old. One CPG addressed serving sizes while another set requirements for raw breaded shrimp based on data collected in 1978. The third regulated the labeling of items for vending machines foods and beverages after movement via interstate commerce. The agency noted that all the guides have been superseded by other FDA actions.
