Here We Goat Again...

Due to its nutritional and hypoallergenic properties, goat milk is becoming increasingly popular with health-conscious consumers. As usual, adulteration follows closely. Detection of fraudulent use of other milk products is crucial to protect the consumer and honest producers, but is not an easy task with the usual analytical methods. A rapid detection method was developed based on high resolution Raman spectroscopy that delivers reliable results quickly due to the unique spectrum of goat milk.
