Imported Food Inspection Data for Australia

Under Australia’s Imported Foods Inspection Scheme, administered by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, a summary report on food inspection data is published annually.  The report covering January – December 2020 has been published and shows that 152,000+ tests were conducted on imported foods during this period.  Over half were for food labeling and compositional assessment.  Significant labeling non-compliances were labels lacking or listing incomplete nutritional details, labels lacking or listing incorrect ingredient lists, labels that did not comply with country-of-origin requirements, and labels that lacked importer details.  The report also indicates that foods from China, India, and Japan were subject to the most inspections.

We are covering 226 countries and 28 economic communities. Contact us here in case of any questions.
