Tracing the Food Supply Chain

Food supply chains are becoming more and more complex. The FDA has therefore requested the food industry to come up with tracking systems to identify food items that are fraudulent, contaminated or otherwise not fit for human consumption. Several industries are requested to help develop low- or no-cost tools for traceability of food and beverages. The goal is to set up and maintain a food traceability list, which includes foods that are a risk for consumers.
