Why is the Food Fraud Database being transferred from USP to Decernis?

Decernis is committed to the mission of product safety. The Food Fraud Database has significant synergies with Decernis’ existing platforms, which made Decernis a natural fit to maintain and continue to develop this important resource to support the prevention of food adulteration.

This divestiture allows USP and our food group, to increase focus on developing the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) and FCC standards in the context of food integrity.

 

Will I continue to login to the Food Fraud Database through Access Point?

Prior to August 1, 2018, users will continue to login through Access Point. Beginning on August 1, there will be a new authentication system for accessing the Food Fraud Database.

 

What changes will I see after logging into the Food Fraud Database?

You will see logos within the database change to Decernis over several weeks.

 

How can I renew my subscription to the Food Fraud Database?

Will this transfer change the information in the database?

The information in the database will remain the same and continue to be updated on a regular (typically, weekly or daily) basis.

 

Will there be continuity in the management and curation of the database?

Decernis is committed to maintaining continuity of database operations for FFD customers. In addition, the technical lead for the Food Fraud Database will join the Decernis team as Senior Manager, Scientific Affairs and will continue to oversee FFD operations.
